04.15 pm Bears (also on Fridays)

Please do not feed the Animals!

The zoo animals are not allowed to be fed independently by the visitors. Animals begging for food may not be fed under any circumstances. Most of the animals are food sensitive, and the wrong food could be life-threatening for them!

You can feed the animals in the pets’ corner with food out of a food vending machine. The elephants, loris and penguins can be fed under the supervision of our keepers with food provided by the zoo at the following times:

 

Elephant Feeding by Visitors

Under the direction of the zoo keepers, visitors are permitted to feed the elephants with bread, fruit or vegetables provided by the zoo. As a rule, the feedings take place daily at 12:00 noon and 04:00 pm. Please pay attention to the notices inside and outside the elephant house. We appreciate your understanding when the public feeding sometimes has to be cancelled for reasons of animal management or husbandry.

The loris, little multi-coloured parrots, live inside the elephant house in a walk-in aviary, where you can experience the birds close-up and feed them with nectar.
